The 3,452-acre Lake Marburg is the focus of activities at Codorus State Park, which boasts 26 miles of lake shoreline.
The lake is stocked with rainbow and brown trout. Anglers also catch largemouth bass, crappie, northern pike, yellow perch and muskie. Bow fishers pursue their sport in designated shallow coves.
The park provides lake access with six launch ramps and canoe and motorboat rentals. There is a 20 hp limit on boats.
On shore, the scenic park can be explored on five miles of hiking trails and eight miles of bridle trails.
About 100 acres of the park are designated for mountain bikers in summer and snowmobilers in winter. Nordic skiers use 300 acres of fields and forest. Sledding, ice-skating and iceboating also are popular.
The park has a 191-site campground that is open from mid-April to late October, a swimming pool and wading pool. There is a charge to camp or use the swimming facilities.
The park also has a new Veterans Memorial.
